(San Francisco) - Jeff Menard, of the University of San Francisco Athletic Department, has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sponsorship as announced by the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, Eric Dumbleton, Thursday. Menard had previously served as the Director of Marketing and Sponsorships for the Dons.

"Jeff is a key member of the external relations team and overall department, and I am excited to see him receive this well deserved promotion," commented Dumbleton. "His tireless work ethic, passion for USF Athletics, and personable nature have all contributed significantly to his success. Our marketing and sponsorship efforts are in excellent hands under Jeff's leadership."

"I am excited to be deepening my involvement with USF Athletics and am thrilled with the progress that has been made in the areas of sponsorship and marketing," said Menard. "As I move into my new position, I am eager to provide continued and expanded leadership as we work to take things to the next level."

Since being named the Director of Marketing and Sponsorship in August of 2007, Menard has increased sponsorship dollars for the Athletic Department by 63 percent while also increasing trade-out dollars with local restaurants by 166 percent. He has also played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Dons' student rewards program. During the 2009 basketball season, Menard also spearheaded the Homecoming VIP event that engaged numerous of USF's sponsors. The event was the first of its kind to be held on the Hilltop.

Under his new title, Menard will continue to raise the bar as it relates to accountability and delivery while working to bring corporate sponsorship at USF Athletics to a new level. He will continue to focus his efforts on building meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with the Dons' corporate partners.

Menard originally joined USF as a graduate assistant to the baseball program during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

The 1994 graduate of Alabama Birmingham earned his Master's Degree in Sports Management in 2006 at the United States Sports Academy. Menard was a second team all-conference pitcher for the Blazers baseball program during his undergraduate academic career.
