Aug. 20, 2007

Jeff Menard has been named Director of Marketing and Sponsorships for the University of San Francisco's Athletic Department, Executive Director of Athletics Debra Gore-Mann announced today (Aug. 20). Menard is no stranger to the department, having worked part-time as the Director of Marketing for the baseball program for the past two seasons.

Menard, who also served as a graduate assistant with the baseball team, has worked hard, selling advertising, planning special events and promotions and getting groups to attend USF baseball games.

The 1994 graduate of Alabama Birmingham earned his Master's Degree in Sports Management in 2006 at the United States Sports Academy. Menard was a second team all-conference pitcher for the Blazers during his undergraduate academic career.

"We are very happy to have Jeff join our team as Marketing and Sponsorships Director for the entire athletic department," said Gore-Mann in making the announcement. "He has a great feel for both the University and the San Francisco community in which he will work. He has been very successful marketing USF baseball on a part-time basis. I have every confidence he will do a great job with the entire program."

Among his achievements over the past year was helping the baseball team to acquire a new scoreboard and helping plan another successful Dante Benedetti Classic at AT&T Park.

"I am thrilled to accept this position at USF," said Menard. "I am looking forward to helping all of the athletic programs by acquiring both new sponsorships and new fans."
