Lorraine Gan named Director of Operations for the Dons
USF Names Lorraine Gan Director of Operations

(San Francisco) - Lorraine Gan, former Director of Facility Operations and Event Services at the University of Connecticut, has been named Director of Game Operations and Facilities at the University of San Francisco, Director of Athletics Debra Gore-Mann announced today.

Gan, a 1996 USF graduate, began her athletics career while a student at USF in 1993. She went on to earn her Masters in Education at Springfield College while serving there as a graduate assistant.

"We are very pleased to bring back an alumnus of the University who is uniquely qualified for the position of Director of Game Operations," said Gore-Mann in making the announcement. "She was in charge of 19 sports at UConn and is someone who we believe is an outstanding addition to our staff."

After beginning her tenure at UConn in September of 1999, Gan initially served as a facilities and events assistant. She was promoted to assistant director and then was named director in May of 2001. Gan owns a wealth or experience working in one of the top Division I athletic departments in the country. While at UConn, Gan served as tournament manager for many high profile NCAA and BIG EAST events. The Huskies hosted a total of 12 NCAA First and Second Round Sub-Regionals for men's and women's soccer, four NCAA Women's Basketball Sub-Regionals and also hosted the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament four times.

"I'm really excited to be back," Gan said. "I look forward to the opportunity to build a program with Debi. She's full of energy and I look forward to working with her. I want to bring my experience at UConn here to make USF a better, more efficient place."
