SAN BRUNO, Calif. – San Francisco's Zachary Turner has been named the Rawlings West Coast Conference player of the month for April, announced Assistant Commissioner Jeff Tourial.
Turner led the Dons to a 16-5 record in April, including a 9-3 record in conference games. The junior hit .378 (28-for-74) with 15 runs scored and a remarkable 28 runs batted in. Turner posted a slugging percentage of .730 on the strength of eight doubles and six home runs.
The San Carlos, Calif. native had a 16-game hit streak and 13-game streak with an RBI. He drove in four runs three times, three in another game, and had three more two-RBI efforts.
Turner raised his batting average from .317 to .343 in April and had eight multi-hit games. He ranks in the top-10 in the WCC in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, runs batted in, doubles, home runs, total bases, at bats and sacrifice flies.
