For senior student-athletes, their final collegiate competition brings a chance to reflect on how the game has changed their life, and how they have impacted a program.
 
For women's soccer player Jaciara Mello, her experience has built her into the woman she is today.
 
"This has just built my foundation for who I am as a person," she reflected. "That's something that I'm always going to pride myself in, being a student and athlete at USF."
 
On the soccer pitch, volleyball court and looping around the cross country course, the Dons bid farewell to many student-athletes who are proud of the impact on the program and each individual and team accomplishment achieved throughout their time wearing the Green and Gold.
 
Jarrett Moore, cross country runner for the Dons, summed it up.
 
"Four years of someone's life is a true commitment. It takes a lot of dedication and it takes a lot of love for what you do. I'm very blessed to have this experience."
 
This segment of Behind the Mask, the ongoing San Francisco feature series on Comcast SportsNet California, can be seen in the fourth episode of the half-hour show. The series showcases the teams and student-athletes of all 15 varsity sports at USF, and takes viewers beyond the game. A re-airing of the episode can be seen on CSNCA Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. to cap the calendar year.
