For the 2012-13 reporting year, the University of San Francisco women's basketball team earned its first national recognition after holding down an APR of 1,000.
The APR represents a four-year rolling average and provides a clear picture of the academic culture of a program. The latest figures, released by the NCAA May 7, represent a combination of scores beginning with the 2009-10 academic year.
USF Women's Basketball- Is one of 43 women's basketball programs honored, representing the top 10 percent of the nation's programs
- Is one of 22 institutions on the list with a perfect APR multi-year rate of 1,000
- Was the only West Coast Conference member school to receive recognition for its women's basketball program, earning the highest APR in the league
- Earned its first-ever recognition award
- Improved its 2011-12 score by 23 points, the biggest leap since APR calculations began 10 years ago
- Is one of two California women's basketball programs to earn recognition, alongside Stanford
- USF and Stanford join Washington State and Eastern Washington as the only representatives on the West Coast
- Is one of five USF programs to earn a perfect score, and one of a school-high six to earn recognition by the NCAA
