SAN FRANCISCO – University of San Francisco head coach Jennifer Azzi has announced a new addition to the Dons' staff with the hiring of assistant Britinee Yasukochi.

Yasukochi, most recently the director of basketball operations at UC Davis for the past three years, will be responsible for player development, academics, scouting, alumni relations and recruiting for the Dons.

"Britinee is a perfect addition to our staff," head coach Jennifer Azzi said. "Her energy, passion and knowledge maker her a great fit for us at USF. As part of the UC Davis staff she had a chance to learn from the best, and I'm excited for her to start working with our team!"

As the Aggies' first director of operations, she assisted the staff in administrative capacities such as film breakdown and exchange, camps and clinics, team travel, and alumni and community relations. Prior to her stint at UC Davis, Yasukochi served on the staffs at Long Beach State and Saddleback College after a successful playing career at Occidental.

As a senior for the Occidental Tigers in 2010, she helped her team to a 21-6 overall record. Yasukochi averaged 5.2 assists and a 1.67 assist-to-turnover ratio in her final collegiate season. Her assists tally was good for 19th in the nation, and as a team the Tigers' mark of 16.0 assists per game was 25th in the NCAA Division III ranks.

During her stretch with the Tigers, Occidental earned three consecutive SCIAC conference championships. The team recorded an overall record of 80-27 and posted three 20-win seasons. In her collegiate career, Yasukochi compiled 500 points, 391 assists and 137 steals before graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics.

"I am so excited to be joining Coach Azzi's staff and I look forward to working with such an experienced and accomplished staff," Yasukochi said. " I am grateful for the opportunity to join the USF program and be a part of a school with such high academic standards, and I look forward to the upcoming season."

A native of Southern California, Yasukochi played her prep basketball at Bishop's School in La Jolla, also the high school alma mater of current Don, Bryn Stark.

Yasukochi has three younger siblings, all of which are involved in athletics. Brent attends San Jose State and is judo player, Breanna plays basketball at UC Davis, and younger brother Brad is involved in youth basketball.
