Video recap
SAN FRANCISCO - The night at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom in downtown San Franicsco began with a welcome from Don Francisco and the USF Dons Spirit Squad as soon as guests stepped off the elevator on the 15th floor of the Merchant's Exchange Building, followed by a complimentary cocktail hour where guests could meet the new 2016-17 men's and women's basketball coaching staffs, players, and the night's presenters.
Â
Once dinner was served in the elegant and luxurious ballroom, the evening's presentation began with a video welcome from Golden State Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr, followed by interviews with
Kyle Smith,
Molly Goodenbour,
Rachel Howard and
Nate Renfro. Next up came words of wisdom from the legendary Rick Barry and the night was capped by a special honor for longtime Don, Jack Boland, this year's recipient of the Jim Brovelli Award.
For those unable to attend the gala, the evening was broadcast live onÂ
Facebook with anÂ
Instagram take over by AD Scott Sidwell and a Snapchat takeover by women's basketball player
Raushan Gultekin. All the festivities were also live tweeted byÂ
