Smith Introduced to USF Community on Friday

Kyle Smith will be formally introduced to the media and USF community on Friday at 12 noon.

Newly-hired USF head men's basketball coach Kyle Smith will be formally introduced to the media and USF community on Friday, April 1 in War Memorial at The Sobrato Center beginning at 12 noon.

The press conference will feature remarks from University President Paul Fitzgerald, S.J., Director of Athletics Scott Sidwell along with Smith and will be streamed live by Campus Insiders via USFDons.com and TheW.tv. beginning at 12 noon.

The event is open to the public, and doors open at 11:30 a.m. Parking is free in all campus lots between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Smith, 46, was officially named USF's head coach on Wednesday following six successful seasons at Columbia. This season, he guided the Lions to a school-record 25 wins and the CollegeInsider.com Tournament championship. Smith has deep roots in the West Coast Conference, having served lengthy stints as an assistant coach at the University of San Diego (1992-2000) and Saint Mary's College (2001-10).
