SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The USF men's soccer team was picked to finish second in this year's West Coast Conference preseason poll, coming in tied with San Diego for the runner-up spot. Seniors
Davi Ramos and
David Garrett represented the Dons on the preseason All-WCC team.
The Dons and Toreros each took home 38 points total, trailing conference favorite and defending co-champion Santa Clara, who garnered four first place votes. Fellow 2015 co-champion San Diego took a pair of first place votes, followed by Loyola Marymount and Saint Mary's, who came in fourth and fifth in the poll, respectively, each earning one first place vote apiece.
Portland, Gonzaga and Pacific rounded out the final three spots.
This year marks the third time in four years that four different teams have registered first place votes.
Ramos, a midfielder, was a second team all-conference selection last year after scoring three goals with a pair of assists.
Meanwhile, Garrett is expected to again provide the offensive spark after leading the team with seven goals in 2015 en route to a first team All-WCC nod.
USF opens the regular season on the road at Nebraska Omaha on Aug. 26.
