Get ready to tip off the 2016-17 basketball season at the annual Hilltop HoopSFest on Saturday, Oct. 8. The festivities will take place during USF Family Weekend (Oct. 7-9), providing the entire USF community an opportunity to enjoy a fun night of free entertainment and get their first glimpse of the Dons' men's and women's basketball squads as they ring in the official opening of the season.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the action beginning at 7 p.m. from War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The first 1,000 in attendance will get a free glow stick and the first 300 students get free pizza.
The evening's events will be chock full of games, giveaways, prizes and competitions featuring Dons players. Members of the men's and women's teams will compete in mini games, including a 3-point contest and a slam dunk competition. Fans will have their opportunity to showcase their skills with shooting competitions as well.
Spectators enjoying the show can also be on the lookout for T-shirt tosses throughout the night.
The student spirit group, Los Locos will join the USF Spirit Squad and the USF band to help jazz up the event, while the USF Voices will kick things off by singing the national anthem.
HoopSFest is free for all in attendance. Just show up and enjoy the show!
