USF Basketball will celebrate some of its all-time great teams and legendary players on Thursday, Feb. 2 on
Dons of the 70's Night when USF plays host to Pepperdine in War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Some of the players and coaches expected to be in attendance include three-time All-America selection Bill Cartwright, 2017 USF Hall of Fame inductee James Hardy, Mike Quick, Rod Williams, Bart Bowers, Wallace Bryant, Bob Gaillard, Dan Belluomini along with members of the late Phil Smith's family.

The first 250Â fans in attendance will be treated to a team photo of the 1976-77 USF Dons, which won their first 29 games of the season and were ranked No. 1 in the nation for most of the season.

USF legends Bill Cartwright and James Hardy will also sign autographs following the game.

In addition to honoring some of USF's legendary players and coaches at halftime, the night will also have a strong 70's theme. All fans are encouraged to dress in 1970's attire or as their favorite 70's icon. Prizes will be awarded to the fans with the best 70's dress, hair and mustache or to Farrah Fawcett, Cher, John Travolta, Radar O'Reilly, Tom Selleck and Donnie & Marie lookalikes.

Fans are invited to visit the
1970's Giveaway Table in the front lobby prior to the game to enjoy items such as Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread, Twinkies, Charleston Chews, Big Hunks, Dolly Madison Fruit Pies, Bubble Yum, Pringles, Chef Boyardee Spaghetti O's, Cheez Wiz and various Swanson TV Dinners.

As an added attraction, fans are encouraged to stop by the
Smells of the 70's Table in the front lobby to sample fragrances such as Brut, Aqua Velva, Paco Rabbane, English Leather, Jovan Musk and Charlie prior to the game. Fans who overindulge in any of the products are subject to be banished to a special designated section located upstairs in the Sobrato Center.

The Sobrato Center will also be filled with sounds of the 70's throughout the evening, featuring recording artists such as ABBA, the Bee Gees, Commodores, Jackson 5, Heart, Wild Cherry, Earth, Wind and Fire, Hall & Oates, KC and the Sunshine Band to name a few.

USF's teams of the 1970s combined to post a 202-79 (.719) record, win seven conference championships, make six NCAA Tournament appearances and produce seven All-Americans, three WCC Players of the Year, 13 NBA players and two conference coaches of the year during a decade of dominance.
