DAVIS, Calif. – The San Francisco middle distance runners led the field at the Aggie Open on Saturday, with individual victories on both the men's and women's side in the 1,500 meters.

For the women, the Dons finished 1-2-3, with Isabelle Brauer picking up the win in 4:31.30. Close behind were teammates Emma Stahr and Kelsey Neilsen for the podium sweep, and coming in fifth was Don Daryl Phill.

Brauer, a sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden, picked up her first individual win on the track in a Dons uniform in her first collegiate outing in the 1,500. For Stahr, her mark of 4:31.73 shaved nearly eight seconds off her previous collegiate best and Neilsen's run of 4:34.86 is also a new benchmark for the junior from San Diego, Calif.

On the men's side, USF sophomore Caleb McClain overtook the competition with a final kick to finish in 4:05.03 in his first event win as a Don. Teammate Cristian Monsalud was just three seconds behind to cross the line in third to round out a successful day on the track.

"Isabelle led wire-to wire and closed strong to win easily with Emma and Kelsey just a few strides back," said USF head coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "It was great to see all three of these women open up with collegiate bests. Caleb came from behind for the win, and it's nice to see him finish so aggressively."
 
Up next, USF will compete at the Hornet Invitational hosted by Sacramento State on March 18.
