Academic Progress Rate scores are a measure of classroom performance of student-athletes on every Division I team based on eligibility and retention for each semester or quarter. The data is based on a combination of scores and a series of formulas over a four-year period starting with the 2012-13 academic year. The APR includes both retention at institution and academic eligibility in its calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport. All teams must meet an academic threshold of 930 to qualify for the postseason and can face penalties for continued low academic performance.
