SAN FRANCISCO – The Dons baseball team was represented on the annual West Coast Conference All-Academic team with one first-team selection and four honorable mention honorees.
Left-handed pitcher
Sam Granoff (3.92; History) headlined the list of USF academic standouts by taking home first team recognition for the first time in his career, while
Scott Parker (3.65; Business),
Ross Puskarich (3.26; Business),
Nico Giarratano (3.20; Business) and
Thomas Ponticelli (3.20; Business) earned honorable mention nods.
Granoff, who won two games this year with a 4.37 ERA primarily as a mid-week starter, was previously named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2015. He was the recipient of the USF History Department's Frank Bench Award, is a USF Davies Scholar, and is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu and the History Honor Society.
Giarratano earned All-Academic honorable mention recognition last year as well.
The Dons have had at least one first-team All-Academic representative in 18 of
