2019-20 (SENIOR): Was named to to the Ping All-American Honorable Mention team, the first All-American honors of his career...Earned Ping All-West Region honors for the third time in his career...led the Dons with a 72.3 stroke average, finished the year with three top-10 finishes include his second career tournament championship...in 18 rounds played this year he finished at or below par 11 times...opened the year tied for 25th at the Carpet Capital Intercollegiate with a 6-over 222 (73-79-70), recorded 12 birdies in that tournament, the first of four tournaments with 10 or more birdies...finished tied for 20th at the Maridoe Invitational with a 12-over 228 (78-74-76)...took third with a 4-under 209 (71-69-69) at the Oregon State Invitational...also finished third at the Orange County Collegiate Classic with an even par 216 (71-74-71), carded 10 birdies and three eagles in that tournament...had an eagle on 18 to seal the win for the Dons...in the final tournament of the year, he captured a share of the tournament championship with a 1-under 208 (70-69-69) at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, he finished that tournament with a career-best 17 birdies in a 54-hole tournament.
2018-19 (JUNIOR): Earned Ping All-West Region honors for the second time in his career...became just the third player in USF history to earn First Team All-WCC honors for the third-straight year...he joins Ji Hwan Park (2010-12) and Sebastian Crookall-Nixon (2014-16) as the only players to achieve this feat...earned a bid to play in the NCAA Regionals for the third time, sercond as an individual...he led USF with an average score of 70.9 this season...he finished the the season with 18 rounds of par or better and has carded 127 birdies with seven top-10 finishes all of which led the Dons...opened the year with a 3-over 216 (73-72-71) at the Inverness Invitational...he followed that up finishing tied for 27
th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational with a 2-under 211 (71-72-68) he recorded 15 birdies in that tournament, it was the first of six tournaments in which he recorded 10 or more birdies...recorded his 10
th career top-10 finish at the Visit Stockton Invitational when he finished with a 6-under 207 (72-66-69) in that tournament he finished with 13 birdies and the first of three eagles on the year...took sixth at the SMC Invitational with a 4-under 209 (69-76-64)...recorded a 7-under 66 in the second round which was a season-best...at The Goodwin he finished tied for 45
th with a 2-over 218 (71-69-78) he finished with 11 birdies...took sixth at the El Macero Classic...tied his career-best finish at the WCC Championships when he finished tied for third with a 4-under 216 (71-69-72)...at the NCAA Pullman Regional he was sensational, he finished tied for third with a 12-under 198 (67-65-66), the 198 was tied for the third best 54-hole score at par-70 Palouse Ridge Golf Club...Widing finished the tournament one stroke shy of advancing to the National Tournament, he recorded 14 birdies in the tournament and three eagles.
2017-18 (SOPHOMORE): Earned second career First Team All-West Coast Conference selection...also garnered WCC All-Academic honors...played in all 11 events for USF, in 29 rounds finished with a 71.9 stroke average which was tops on the squad...finished with nine rounds under par on the season...finished third at the Golfweek Conference Challenge finishing with a 7-under 209 (73-67-69), the second round score of 5-under 67 was the second lowest individual round of the season for the Dons...wrapped up the fall competition finishing tied for 20th with a 1-under 212...finished tied for seventh at the Farms Invitational with a 1-over 217 (77-68-72) he eagled the final hole to help the Dons capture the team championship...was the tournament champion at the Redhawk Invitational finishing with a 5-under 208 (65-75-68)...the 6-under 65 was the lowest individual round of the year for USF...at the WCC Championship he finished tied for 22
nd with a 5-over 221 (70-78-73)...wrapped up the season at the NCAA Bryan Regional where he was the top finisher for the Dons...he finished tied for 35
th with a 6-over 222 (75-75-72).
2016-17 (FRESHMAN): First team All-West Coast Conference selection…also named to the PING All-West Region team…competed in the NCAA Washington Regional in Sammamish, Wash….led USF in stroke average at 70.8…was the team’s top finisher in seven of nine events on the year…enjoyed six, top-10 finishes, including a solo third at his first WCC Championships…had four top-5 finishes, as well… shot under par in 15 of his 30 competitive rounds, including a 9-under 63 in the final round of the PING Cougar Classic on April 1 at the Riverside Country Club in Provo…recorded three of the team’s lowest rounds and five of the team’s lowest tournament scores to par on the season…made his collegiate debut at the Olympic Invitational where he tied for 15
th at 218 (+5) after carding rounds of 75-71-72 on the Lakeside…tied for 61
st at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at 218 (+5) on rounds of 73-76-69…earned his first top-10 of the year at the Saint Mary’s Invitational at Poppy Hills, where he finished fifth at 213 (+1) on rounds of 69-72-73…finished in the top-10 in each of his next three events…tied for 10
th in a strong field at the Princeville Invitational with a 6-under score of 210…opened with a 73 and followed with rounds of 67 and 70 to kick start a stretch of eight consecutive rounds in which he finished under par…opened the spring season at the Arizona National Invitational where he tied for fourth with a 12-under score of 204 on rounds of 69-66-69, marking the lowest tournament score of the season by a USF player…continued his hit play at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Course, where he tied for sixth with a 7-under score of 206 (67-68-71)…tied for 20
th in a strong field at the Goodwin at 5-over 215 (71-75-69)…opened the PING Cougar Classic with rounds of 72 and 75 before firing a 9-under 63 in the final round to earn a share of third place at 210 (-6)…made the turn at 3-under and then birdied five of his first six holes on the backside, including four straight on holes 12-15 to move to 9-under…pars on the last three holes left with him a 63…returned to Riverside Country Club the following week for the WCC Championships, where he finished solo third at 8-under 208 (70-70-68), three strokes off the lead…was selected to compete at the NCAA Washington Regional as an individual competitor…tied for 40th with a 54-hole score of 224 (+11) on rounds of 74-81-69.
High School and Amateur Career: Has won two silver medals at the European Championships and one silver from the World Cup in Japan...played for the A6 Golf Club in Sweden since he was 13 years of age...finished in the top-4 in the nation for juniors under 21...won the Swedish School Championships in 2014...best round of golf as a junior was a 9-under 63 during a tournament in South Africa.
Personal: Born on July 14, 1997 in Jonkoping, Sweden...parents are Alexander Widing and Ulla Widing...loves everything sports and exploring new adventures and places...plans to major in economics...aspires to win majors on the PGA Tour and play on the Ryder Cup team.
