2017 San Francisco Cross Country Invitational Information 

The San Francisco cross country team is now accepting entries into the field of the 25th USF Cross Country Invitational, taking place on Sept. 2 at Golden Gate Park. The annual event is the held on opening weekend of the NCAA cross country season at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park.
 
Last year, a new 2,000 meter loop was unveiled, with the women running a 6K course, and the men competing at the 8K distance. The course is composed of grass and dirt trails with gradual uphills and downhills at the city’s iconic park.
 
The women will take off from the starting line at 10 a.m., with the men’s race slated to begin at 10:45 a.m.
 
As in years past, a full complement of regional teams is expected to attend with top schools from multiple divisions competing on the course. Last season, the Cal men took the team and individual title, while the USF women earned the team crown with three women in the top 10 finishers. Individually, Stanford's Vanessa Fraser crossed the line first, with Cal's Elise Cranny a fraction of a second behind.
 
Entries are now being accepted at www.directathletics.com, and the deadline to register teams or individuals is Aug. 29. More information on the meet can be found at www.usfdons.com/usfinvite.
