(San Francisco, CA) - James Han, a junior on USF's Rifle team, has earned two distinguishing awards for academic excellence.

On April 18, Han will be honored as the 2006 recipient of the Dr. Yoshikazu Shiiba Student of the Year Award. The award is presented by the USF Health Professions Alumni Society and it will be formally awarded at the annual USF Health Professions Alumni-Student Dinner.

Han was also one of six students to earn the Biology Department Semester Award for Academic Excellence, based on academic performance during the Fall 2005 semester. Another notable awardee was senior Women's Basketball player, Jenni Jones.
