USF Track Set for Season Debut at the Husky Classic

(San Francisco) - USF track opens the 2007 season Saturday, February 10 when it competes in the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington at the Dempsey Indoor. The Dons men's team will make its official debut as a fully sponsored team in the Pacific Northwest, while the women's team begins its third campaign.
San Francisco will send its top middle distance performers to compete against a top field, featuring seven top-10 teams. Sophomore Alex Nelson, junior Kenny Sparks and junior Ryan Courtwirght will compete in the men's 3K, set for a 4:15 PM gun.
Senior Renee Stribling is entered in the women's mile, set for a 10:40 AM start. Sophomore Michelle Born will compete for the Dons in the women's 3K event, beginning at 3:45 PM.
