USF Cross Country & Track Hosted Successful Tom Caruso Run

(San Francisco) - USF's cross country and track teams hosted the Seventh Annual Tom Caruso Run Sunday morning in Golden Gate Park at the Conservatory of Flowers. The event raised money for both Dons programs, along with a scholarship fund established in Tom Caruso's name for the USF MBA program.

Tom Caruso, a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco, along with USF's MBA program, was an avid runner who was training for the Olympic Trials when he was tragically killed by a cab while training in Las Vegas.

This year's event saw over 170 participants show up and was won by Sally Daganzo with a time of 17:52. The top men's finisher was USF soccer player Adam Jacobson with a time of 18:38.

"The meet was a huge success," said meet director Eric Flemming. "We were really happy with the turn-out and were glad to keep the memory of Tom Caruso alive."
