The University of San Francisco Track and Field teams will travel to UC Davis this Saturday to compete in the Aggie Open. Competing against the Dons will be numerous schools from California, including WCC rival Santa Clara.

Junior Jennifer Hartford, who won the 3000m (10:11.23) last week at the Stanford Quad meet, will make her 2007 debut in the 5000m, where she will be joined by juniors Lucy Miller and Elizabeth Noey. Miller will also compete in the 1500m with senior Renee Stribling, who won the Aggie Open 1500m last year with a time of 4:41.86. Stribling will also compete in the 800m, where she placed second last year with a time of 2:19.86.

In the jumps, freshman Briana Junior will compete in her second triple and long jump events of the season. Last week at Stanford, Junior set a school record in the triple jump (10.64m) and broke the long jump record from 2005 with a jump of 4.77m.

On the men's side, sophomore Alex Nelson will return for the Dons after missing the Stanford Quad competition. He will look to build off of his double win from the WCC Challenge meet when he competes in the 1500m and 800m races. Joining Nelson in both races will be junior Kenny Sparks who had personal bests in both the 1500m (1:56.47) and 800m (3:58.32) last week at Stanford.

Junior Ryan Courtwright is entered in the 1500m and the 5000m, an event he won last year at the Aggie Open with a time of 15:10.82. Freshmen Alex McIntosh, who set a school record last week in the pole vault, will compete for the second time this year in that event, where he will be looking to improve on his mark of 4.20m.

In the throws, freshmen Alex Irani (12.19m) and A.J. Fabrizio (12.67m) will look to improve from their first collegiate competition in the shot put. Irani will also compete in the discus, where he threw 37.10m last week at the Quad meet.

Field events start at 9:30 am, while the running events begin at 10:35 am on the Woody Wilson Track. Please check www.usfdons.com for complete results following the meet.
