Romo, Grace Set USF Records

Cal Nevada Championships Results
(San Francisco) - Jesus Romo and Jeremy Grace of the USF Track and Field team, both set school records Saturday, as the Dons competed at the Cal Nevada Championships on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles.
Romo, competing in the steeplechase, finished third and broke his own school record with a time of 9:22.66. Romo had previously set the San Francisco record at the Aggie Open earlier this spring with a time of 9:29.73.
In his first 10,000m race ever, Grace set a USF best mark in the event. Grace ettered Eric Flemming's school record, finishing fifth with a time of 31:45.
Other notable USF finishes include Ravi Amarawansa, who placed 12th in the 5000 with a personal best 14:58.62, Laurel Kleiber, who finished sixth in the 5000 with a personal record of 17:07.01, and Mary Verran, who placed ninth in the 10000 with a personal best 17:07.01.
In addition, Arianna Edwards and Haley Nemra each posted season best marks in the 800, but failed to advance to the finals. Edwards earned a time of 2:16.23 and Nemra, 2:18.28, finishing 11th and 19th, respectively.
The Cal Nevada Championships continue through Sunday in Los Angeles.
