USF Heads To Woody Wilson Classic

(San Francisco) - The USF Track and Field team will be back in action this weekend, as the Dons head to Davis, Calif. for the Woody Wilson Classic hosted by UC Davis. Field events will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, while running events will commence at 10 a.m.
In the field events this weekend, Alanna Nulph, Brianna Junior, Alex Delgadillo and Alex McIntosh will compete for the Dons. Nulph returns to action after capturing the title in the shot put at the Johnny Mathis with a big personal record of 13.33m. Nulph will also compete in the discus, while Junior returns this weekend to compete in the triple jump, after sitting out last weekend. Delgadillo won the javeling title last week at the Johnny Mathis and will return in the event this weekend, while McIntosh will compete in the pole vault.
On the women's side in the running events, Nicole Bowler, Michelle Born, Carly Holman, Hannah O'Neal, Sophia Ditty, Amelia Holcombe, Hillary Kigar and Mary Verran will be amongst those running for the Green and Gold. Bowler and Born will compete in the 1500, while O'Neal and Holman will run the 800m. Ditty, Holcombe, Kigar and Verran will each race in the 5000m race.
Highlighting the running events for the men will be races by Byron Williams, Ravi Amarawansa, Ganbileg Bor, Devin Hopkins, Will Marquardt and Thomas Estrada. Estrada will make his debut in the 5000m and will be joined by Marquardt in the race. Hopkins will compete in the 800, while the remaining three - Williams, Amarawansa and Bor - will run the 1500m.
