Romo, Verran Post Personal Bests at Mt. Sac Relays

(Walnut, Calif.) - Jesus Romo set a personal best, and subsequently a school record, Thursday as the USF Track and Field team opened action at the Mt. Sac Relays Meet. Romo ran a 9:14.64 in the 3000 Steeplechase, finishing eighth in his heat.
"Jesus ran a patient but aggressive race in a strong field," said USF head coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "He continues to improve with each competition and has demonstrated that he can be very effective in this event."
Also posting a personal best Friday was Mary Verran, who ran a 37:10.69 in the 10k for the women. Verran better her previous personal best by 47 seconds.
Nicole Bowler competed in the 3000 steeplechase, finishing fourth in her heat with a time of 10:44.04, while Jeremy Grace posted a 32:07.59 in the men's 10k.
The Dons will continue competition Friday as they participate at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational.
