Born Sets USF Record In 5000

(Palo Alto) - Michelle Born, of the USF Track and Field, ran a personal best in the 5000k Saturday at the Payton Jordan Invitational on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. Born ran the event in a school-record time of 16:38.87, finishing 12th in her heat.
"Michelle executed beautifully this evening," said the Dons' head coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "She still has room for improvement in her finish but she took a huge step forward this evening."
Also competing for the Green and Gold was Nicole Bowler. Bowler ran the 1500, placing second overall with a mark of 4:26.74.
The Dons will return to action Saturday, May 8 at the Sacramento State Open.
