USF Opens Indoor Season At Husky Classic

(San Francisco) - The USF track and field team will open the 2010 indoor season this weekend at the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Wash. Competition begins Friday evening and will continue though Saturday.
The Dons kick the season off Friday with two events. USF open the season, and be represented in the distance medley relay by Sophie Curl, Haley Nemra, Aly Drake and Eva Krchova. The relay is scheduled to be ran at 6 p.m. Following the race, Hillary Kigar and Heather Zytkewicz will compete in the 5000m with heats starting at 6:30.
Saturday, San Francisco will wrap-up the meet, competing in five events. Alex Nelson will start the day for USF, competing in the men's 3000m at 8:12 a.m. Devin Hopkins will then race the mile. Heats are scheduled to commence at 8:45 a.m. Drake will race again Saturday, competing in the 400m at 12:10. In the women's 800, the Dons will be represented by Curl and Krchova. The 800m heats will begin at 1 p.m.
