Track and Field Set For Stanford Opener

(San Francisco) - The USF track and field team will compete at the Stanford Opener this weekend in Palo Alto. Also competing in the event will be host Stanford, California, UC Davis, Cal Poly and Fresno State.
The schedule will kick off at 11:40 a.m., when the running events will commence with the women's 2K steeplechase. Field events are slated to begin at Noon with the javelin.
On the women's side, Eva Krchova highlights the leading USF entries. Krchova is fresh off of school indoor records in the 3000 at the Husky Classic. Also competing for the Dons will be Hillary Kigar and Heather Zytkewicz in the 3000, Haley Nemra in the 800 and Aly Drake in the 400.
For the men, Alex Nelson will compete in the 1500, while Ganbileg Bor and Steven Garboden race in the 3000. Nelson will join Devin Hopkins in the 800, while Will Marquardt will represent USF in the 2k steeplechase. In the field events, Alex McIntosh will compete in the pole vault.
