USF Cross Country Hosts Successful Caruso Run

(San Francisco, CA) - Enjoying the crisp and sunny morning, the USF Dons Track & Cross Country teams and USF MBA program hosted the 10th Annual Tom Caruso Memorial Run in Golden Gate Park. Caruso's family, friends, and high school coach were in attendance to commemorate the "love of running" exhibited by Tom, an alumnus of the USF MBA program.
Randall Conner won a year's membership at USF Koret Recreation Center, winning the race in 17:48. Sara Gigliotti the first female finisher in 19:05 and received a package of visits to Avanzare Chiropractic and ART. Other top finishers enjoyed gift certificates and gear from Sports Basement, dinner at Fior d'Italia, wine from Silverado, or car wax and wash from Divisadero Touchless Carwash. All finishers received free carwashes from Divisadero Touchless and Odwalla juice and bars, sponsors of the Tom Caruso Run and of USF Athletics.
The Dons baseball team had a tremendous team showing, despite a hot-dog stand stop late in the race. The women's tennis team was well represented with Jennifer Heisner and Blair Reed taking second and third, respectively, for overall women. Assistant coach for the Dons Women's Basketball team, Marta Menuez represented her team well, placing sixth.
