2009 Cross Country: Competed in two meets for the Dons, finishing 15th in a personal best of 25:45 at the San Francisco Invitational and 18th at the Aztec Invitational. 2009 Track & Field: Had a breakthrough year qualifying for the NCAA Western Regionals in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:06.38 at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational...won the 3000m steeplechase at the Aggie Open...finished third in the 1500m with a personal best of 3:57.46 @SFSU Invite...placed third in the 3000m steeplechase at the Cal Nevada Championships. 2008 Cross Country: Improved dramatically from his freshmen year... was consistently a top seven runner for the Dons... in his first two post season appearances he finished in 32:47 (124th) at the NCAA Regional Championships and 27:12 (21st) at the WCC Championships. 2008 Track & Field: Ran personal bests in the 1500 (4:08.81) and set the school record in the 3000 SC (9:49.41) 2007 Cross Country: Ran a personal best at the Bronco Invitational with a time of 27:12. Prep Career: Cross Country Citrus League individual champion in 2004, 2005 and 2006. CIF champion in San Diego section division IV in 2005 and 2006. Cross country team captain in 2005 and 2006, academic all CIF selection in 2003 and 2004. San Diego Hall of Champions Athlete of the Year in 2004 and 2005. Personal best of 15:41 in the 5k. DONS File: Undeclared major at USF, interested in linguistics and language. Parents are Philomena and Jamie Romo.
