Eric Flemming earned WCC All-Academic honors for the second time
Seven USF Student-Athletes Named to West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic Team

(San Bruno, CA) - Seven USF student-athletes earned selection to the 2005 West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic Team as announced by the league office today. The Dons Cross Country program led the way with a total of five selections with three from the men's squad and two from the women's program. Senior Eric Flemming and junior Jorge Martinez each were honored for the second time, while sophomore Jacob Marx was a first time honoree. Junior Renee Stribling earned her second straight selection, while sophomore Jennifer Hartford earned her first.

Junior Kevin Long from men's soccer earned his second consecutive nod. Sophomore libero Brynn Maurer off the volleyball team captured all-academic honors for the first time.

At the completion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each of the participating sponsored sports. To be considered, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his or her team.

"These honorees represent the commitment of WCC student-athletes to both academic and athletic excellence," said WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran. "Every year, it's a difficult process to narrow the long list of qualified nominees from each institution. All of those nominated should be proud of their achievements."
