April 6, 2006 The USF Track team heads to Los Angeles this weekend to participate in the fourth annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational at UCLA's Drake Stadium in Westwood, CA. Over 600 athletes will participate including several Olympians. Team members will also compete at San Francisco State's Johnny Mathis Invitational. Southern California competition begins for the Dons on Friday, April 7 at 6:00 pm with Lucy Miller competing in the the women's 3000 steeplechase. Dons Renee Stribling, Ashton LeSier, and Michelle Born will run in the 1500 and Jennifer Hartford, Liz Noey, Jennifer Gross and Katie Matl will run in their first 5000 of the season. On the men's side, Alex Nelson will compete in the 1500 while Ryan Courtwright and Cheyne Inman are in the 5000. Several Dons will also be participating in the Johnny Mathis Invitational at San Francisco State on Saturday, April 8.
