Senior Renee Stribling will race in the 1500m for the Dons
USF Track And Field Teams Travel To The Sacramento State Open This Firday

The USF track and field teams will travel to Sacramento State this Friday to compete in the Sac State Open starting at 1:30 p.m.The meet will be the final tune-up for the Dons before they compete in the Independent Conference Championships next weekend at UC Davis.

Competing for the Dons on the men's side will sophomore school record holder Alex Nelson in the 800m. Nelson, who placed second last weekend in the 1500m at the California Collegiate Championships, will be joined by junior Kenny Sparks and freshman Micael Smith. Sparks will also compete in the 1500m with freshman Byron Williams and junior Ryan Courtwright.

For the women, senior Renee Stribling will look to improve on her school record time of 4:31.00 in the 1500m, where she will be joined by sophomore Michelle Born. Junior Lucy Miller will compete for the Dons in the 3000m race and freshmen Alice Hobbs and Christine Jowaiszas will run in the 800m.

In the field events, two freshmen school record holders will look to improve their marks for the Dons; Alex McIntosh looks to improve on his school record in the men's pole vault and Briana Junior will look to improve her mark in the women's triple jump. Competing for the Dons in the throws will be freshmen Alex Irani and A.J. Fabrizio in the shot put, with Irani also participating in the discus competition.
