(Eugene, Ore.) - Tom Kloos, an assistant coach for the USF Track and Field team, has qualified for the finals in the men's 3000m steeplechase event at the USA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore.

The finals will be held at approximately 5:40 Saturday evening at Hayward Track.

Kloos qualified for the final Thursday by posting a ninth place finish in the event. The top 14 finishers advanced to the finals. Kloos finished the race with a mark of 8:35.12, the fourth quickest finish of the afternoon. The fastest time of the afternoon was posted by Daniel Huling who finished the race with a time of 8:34.13.
