(Eugene, Ore.) - Tom Kloos, an assistant coach for the USF Track and Field team, placed sixth in the 3000m steeplechase finals Saturday at the USA Track and Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore. Also competing at the event is incoming Don, Sophie Curl, who competed in the junior women's 800m.

Kloos qualified for the finals with the fourth fastest time ran in the preliminaries on Thursday. Kloos finished sixth in the final with a mark of 8:38.39.

Curl finished seventh in the finals of her event, earning a time of 2:13.42. In the preliminaries, she ran a 2:11.45, finishing sixth, to earn a spot in Sunday's final.
