(Santa Clarita, CA) - Incoming freshman Aly Drake, who signed with both the USF women's soccer team and the track squad, has earned Santa Clarita Valley 2008-09 Female Athlete of the Year by The Signal newspaper after a fantastic senior season at Valencia High School.

In soccer, Drake was the co-captain for the second straight year, and helped lead her team to a co-Foothill League Championship. She was second on the team with eight assists, and third with 10 goals.

On the track, she won the 800m at the CIF State Track and Field Championships with a personal best 2:07.45.
