Assistant Coach Tom Kloos Set to Compete in NACAC Championships

Feb. 19, 2010

(San Francisco, CA) - Assistant Track & Field / Cross Country coach Tom Kloos will compete against athletes representing 16 national federations on March 7 at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Cross Country Championships, contested at Mt. Irvine, Tobago, Trinidad & Tobago.

Kloos was selected for the U.S. team based on his 12th place finish at the USATF Cross Country Championships, held February 13 in Spokane, WA. Last year he finished 6th at the USATF National Championships in the 3000m steeplechase and competed in summer competition in Europe where he set personal bests in four events.

"I am thrilled with this opportunity. It will be my first time representing the U.S. in international competition, and I am definitely looking forward to wearing the 'USA' singlet."
