(Elkhart Lake, WI) - Sophomore cross country runner Laurel Kleiber finished second overall in the women's Olympic distance at the 10th Annual Elkhart Lake Triathlon in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on June 14.

Kleiber, a native of Elkhart Lake who has been competing in the event since she was 15, finished the one mile swim, 28 mile bike ride, and 6.2 mile run in 2:27.13. She was among a total of 860 registered racers (male and female) in the annual event.

In a quote from the Sheboygan Press about the event, Kleiber spoke about her love for the event and the camaraderie it brings.

"I got totally hooked - fell in love with the sport," said Kleiber. "The competitors in a triathlon are so awesome, so supportive. It's like a family out there because it's so many people that are at all the races around the state."
