2008 San Francisco Cross Country Invitational Women's Entrants Get Acrobat Reader

(San Francisco, CA) - USF Cross Country will host the 16th Annual San Francisco Invitational at Golden Gate Park this Saturday, August 30. The Women's 5k begins at 9:15 AM, with the Men's 8k following at 10:00 AM. The start and finish are located on Speedway Meadow.

Headlining for the San Francisco women's team is senior Michelle Born (Roseville, CA), junior Mary Verran (Westminster, CA), sophomores Nicole Bowler (Loomis, CA) and Amelia Holcombe (Portland, OR), and freshman Sophia Ditty (Newport Harbor, CA), Hillary Kigar (Sacramento, CA), and Shawna Winnegar (Sante Fe, NM).

Headliners for the men include sophomores Byron Williams (Ridgewood, NJ), and Ravi Amarawansa (Venice Beach, CA), and freshman Ganbileg Bor (Daly City, CA), Tyler Alvarez (Dana Point, CA), and Jeremy Grace (Dublin, CA).

USF welcomes Stanford, CAL, Santa Clara, SF State, Sonoma State, UC Santa Cruz, SF Academy of Art, and San Jose State to the meet. Stanford last competed in the meet in 2005 and their women's team has since won three consecutive NCAA Titles (2005-07). Stanford men were 19th at the NCAA Championships last year.
