San Francisco women's cross country will compete in the 25th annual San Francisco State Invitational at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park on Friday. The women will run the 6k event, starting at 4:45 PM. USF captured the women's title last season.

Set to run for the Dons are junior Mary Verran, sophomore Arianna Edwards, and freshmen Sophia Ditty, Haley Nemra, and Shannon Jensen.

A total of 219 runners representing 13 colleges and universities are scheduled to compete on Friday. In addition to the Dons, this year's participants include Cal State Monterey Bay, Chico State and Sonoma State, along with Pacific, Sacramento State, San Francisco State and San Jose State. Two Midwestern schools, Creighton and St. Thomas will also make the trek to the Bay Area, joining local institutions CCSF and the Academy of Art to round out the field.
