Cross Country Readies for Bronco Invitational

San Francisco men's and women's cross country is set to compete in the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara at Baylands Park. The meet is the largest cross country event west of the Mississippi River this weekend, and features more than 630 runners in four races. The women's races begin at 9:00 AM (5k Open) and 9:45 AM (5k Invite), while the men's events start at 10:30 AM (8k Open) and 11:15 AM (8k Invite). Women's 5K: Dons B Team (Senior, Christine Jowaiszaz, and juniors Arianna Edwards, Carly Holman, and Hannah O'Neal) will compete in the open event at 9:00 AM. Leading the way in the Invite race is freshman Eva Krchova, who has been the top finisher for the Dons in the last two meets. Seniors Laural Kleiber, and Mary Verran, junior Nicole Bowler, sophomore Hillary Kigar, and freshmen Sophie Curl, Alice Baker, Hayley Niles, Chloe Treleven, and Heather Zytkewicz will round out the A roster. Men's 8K: Senior Byron Williams and freshman Jason Waldram will be the only representatives in the open event at 10:30 AM. Sophomore Ganbileg Bor, USF's top runner this season will lead the men's team in the Invite event. Rounding out the roster is senior Alex Nelson, juniors Ravi Amarawansa, Colin Hopkins, Devin Hopkins, and Joshua Horeled, sophomores Tyler Alvarez, Michael Barnes, Thomas Estrada, Steven Garboden, and Will Marquardt, and freshmen Jordan Baker and Adrian Rafiee. Top teams competing include Stanford (No. 1 men, No. 6 women), Cal, Fresno State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Sacramento State, UC Davis, San Jose State, New Mexico State, and Boise State.
