San Francisco cross country will run a split squad this weekend with part of the team traveling to Arkansas for the Chili Pepper Invitational and the rest of the team competing in the Bronco Invite in Sunnyvale. Arkansas will host the Chili Pepper Invite at Agri Park in Fayetteville on Saturday. The men's 10k race begins at 9:45 AM, with the women's 6k following at 10:30 AM. On the men's side, freshmen Ganbileg Bor, Jeremy Grace, Thomas Estrada and Will Marquardt, sophomores Joshua Horeled and Jesus Romo will compete. The No. 27 Arkansas Razorbacks will also welcome No. 1 Abilene Christian (Division II), Baylor, Boston College, LSU, Memphis, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Virginia Tech. For the women, senior Michelle Born will lead a team of junior Mary Verran, sophomores Nicole Bowler and Laurel Kleiber, and freshmen Sophia Ditty, Haley Nemra, and Hilary Kigar. Other teams joining No. 10 host Arkansas are Abilene Christina, Alabama, LSU, Memphis, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Virginia Tech. The rest of the Dons squad will stay close to home, traveling to Sunnyvale, CA to compete in the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Park. The women's 5k begins at 9:00 AM, with the men's race following at 10:30 AM.
Junior Alice Hobbs, sophomores Arianna and Carly Holman, and freshmen Hannah O'Neal, and Shannon Jensen will compete for the women. Sophomores Byron Williams and Ravi Amarawansa and freshmen Devin Hopkins, Colin Hopkins, Michael Barnes, Tyler Alvarez, and Steven Garboden will run for the men. Other women's teams invited include Boise State, Cal, Fresno State, Hawaii, Idaho, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Diego State, UC Davis, UCSC, UNLV, Westmont, and the host Broncos. On the men's side, other entrants include American River College, Boise State, Cal, Fresno State, Idaho, New Mexico State, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, Westmont, and the host Broncos. |
