San Francisco men's and women's cross country will compete in the West Coast Conference Championships at Crystal Springs in Belmont, CA this Saturday. The men's 8k race will begin at 9:00 AM with the women following in a 6k at 9:45 AM.

For the men, Ganbileg Bor is coming off a great showing at the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, AR two weeks ago. Bor led the men to a 13th place finish out of 30 teams in the 10k race. The freshman ran the fastest 10K time in USF history finishing 52nd in 31:04.41, eclipsing Cheyne Inman's time of 31:38 that he ran at the NCAA Regionals last year.

Also preparing for the race will be sophomores Ravi Amarawansa, Joshua Horeled, Jesus Romo, and Byron Williams, and freshmen Tyler Alvarez, Michael Barnes, Thomas Estrada, Steven Garboden, Jeremy Grace, Colin Hopkins, Devin Hopkins, and Will Marquardt. Final race line-up will be decided prior to the event.

Michelle Born will take the lead for the women, after helping the Dons to a ninth place finish out of 39 teams at the Chili Pepper Invitational. The senior finished 23rd overall with a time of 21:25.45, a new personal best in the 6k race. At the WCC Championships last year, Born earned First Team honors after finishing 10th at 21:52.

Other women preparing for the event are juniors Alice Hobbs, and Mary Verran, sophomores Nicole Bowler, Amelia Holcombe, and Laurel Kleiber, and freshmen Sophia Ditty, Hillary Kigar, and Haley Nemra. As with the men, final race line-up will be decided prior to the event.

Last year at the WCC Championships, both the men's and women's teams had successful races. Cheyne Inman took the individual men's title in the 8k with a time of 25:20, 46 seconds faster then the previous USF school record. The Dons finished fourth overall (105) behind first place Portland (32), second place Loyola Marymount (59) and third place Santa Clara (72).

For the second consecutive year the USF women (43) finished behind Portland (33). However, last year's finish marked the best finish in USF women's history. The top Don was Jennifer Hartford who earned All-WCC First Team honors for the second consecutive year by placing fourth overall with a time of 21:18, the fastest 6K time on any course in school history.
