2005 ALL-WEST COAST CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM GENERAL CAPSULE: Talented pitcher and outfielder...looked to as a leader both in the field and on the mound...great power and defensive skills. AT USF (2005): Named to All-WCC First Team as a sophomore... was named WCC Player of the Week four times (2/15, 3/22, 4/26, 5/10) and WCC Pitcher of the Week once (4/5)...played in 47 games with 43 starts...as a batter, led the team in homeruns (7) and was among the top five in 11 other categories...had three four-game hit streaks (2/8-12, 3/24-4/2, 5/17-22) and one five-game hit streak (5/3-13)...had best game April 22 vs. Loyola Marymount where he went 3-for-4 with a double, two homeruns and four RBI...as a pitcher made 15 appearances, 14 as a starter where he averaged more than six innings per start...was second on the team with an 8-5 record, second in innings pitched with 95.1, second in strike outs with 76, and fourth in ERA with 2.64. AT USF (2004): Made an immediate impact on the USF line-up during his freshman season... started 38 games in the outfield and one on the mound... went 3-for-4 in his first start against Cal (2/24)... enjoyed a terrific two game stretch against Portland where he went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI, then followed with a 4-for-4 day with a homerun and four RBI (3/19-3/20)... went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against Santa Clara (3/27)... recorded six outfield assists during the season...made first start of season on the mound against #1 ranked Stanford and went four strong innings while giving up two unearned runs and striking out 2 (5/18). PREP CAREER: Played four years for North Valley High School, three years as a starter... twice named to the all-league team... twice named team MVP... also played basketball for North Valley... holds the school record for career 3-pointers.
