2008 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER FRESHMAN ALL-AMERICAN 2009 SEASON: Started 13 games as a sophomore... finished the season 4-7, 5.74 ERA... struck out 52 in 80.0 innings... third on team in innings pitched... first win came as a combined 7-0 shutout at UC Riverside (2/26) when he tossed 7.0 innings and struck out four... earned second win 7-4 at Washington (3/13) in an 8.0 inning, seven strikeout performance... struck out seven versus Saint Mary's (4/3)... third victory was a 15-1 drubbing of Pepperdine (4/24) at home when he threw 7.0 innings and fanned seven Waves... forth win came in next game, an 8-5 victory at then No. 13 Cal Poly (5/2), tossing 7.0 innings and striking out six... took fifth win in final appearance at Portland (5/15), throwing 8.0 innings and striking out six. 2008 SEASON: Started 11 of 15 games pitched as a freshman... led the team with a 7-2 record and a 3.19 ERA... in 79.0 innings, struck out 51... threw 7.0 innings and struck out four in his collegiate debut at Hawai'i (2/23)... earned first win versus Pacific (3/12) after a 5.0 inning four strikeout performance... second win was an 8.0 inning combined 6-0 shutout over Fairleigh Dickinson (3/20)... third win was a 5-1 complete game win at Saint Mary's (3/30)... earned fourth win in his next start, throwing 6.0 innings and striking out three versus Loyola Marymount (4/6)... fifth win was a 7.1 inning, six strikeout performance against Portland (4/27)... earned sixth win two starts later, throwing six innings and striking out four at Gonzaga (5/4)... seventh win came in a 7.1 inning, seven strikeout game versus San Diego (5/11)... also struck out seven in a 5.2 inning start versus Dallas Baptist (5/17). PREP CAREER: Played three years of Varsity baseball at Saint Mary's High School... was a two time Team Captain... team was three time League Champions... two time First Team All-Area... earned Team MVP honors... also played basketball.
