2009 SEASON: Started 13 games as a junior... finished the season with a team high 9-0 record and 3.77 ERA... struck out 45 and walked just 18... did not pitch less than 5.1 innings in any outing... threw 6.0 innings with four strikeouts to earn his first victory at University of Texas - San Antonio (2/21)... second win came in an 8.1 inning, 10 strikeout performance against Texas Tech in the Palm Springs Tournament (3/6)... game against Texas Tech earned him RecruitingCloser.com National Pitcher of the Week status... won five consecutive games (3/21-4/18)... tossed 6.0 innings with four strikeouts in a win at New Mexico State (3/21)... in his fourth win, struck out five in 7.0 innings versus Gonzaga (3/28)... fifth win was an 8.0 inning, four strikeout against Saint Mary's (4/4)... earned sixth win with two strikeouts in 6.1 innings at Loyola Marymount (4/11)... seventh and fifth consecutive win was an 8.0 inning, three strikeout showing versus Santa Clara (4/18)... tossed 7.0 innings and struck out two to earn eighth victory at San Diego (5/9)... earned ninth win in final outing, striking out two in 7.0 innings at Portland (5/16).

AT DIABLO VALLEY JC (2007-2008): Went 8-2 with a 2.73 ERA as a sophomore... made 12 starts in 14 appearances with one save... in 82.1 innings struck out 55 and walked just 19... opponents batted just .226.

PREP CAREER: Played three years of varsity baseball and two years of varsity football at El Cerrito High School... was a three-time ACCAL All-League selection... in football, earned Second Team All-League as a safety his senior year.

PERSONAL: Born in September of 1988... son of Roger and Debbie Murray... brother Greg played baseball at Pacific (2007-08)... goal for the season is to help the team as much as possible... thinks the best thing about being a student-athlete is priority registration and the free showers and soap... chose USF because of the coaches, it is close to home and has great weather... would like to be the Nesquick Bunny for a day so he could drink chocolate milk all day... lists Kobe Bryant as the most impressive person he has ever met... would like to backpack around the West Coast after graduation... favorite sports hero is Greg Maddux... favorite movie is Big Daddy... favorite book is Mental ABC's of Pitching... favorite musical artist is Bob Marley... favorite food is chocolate milk... hobbies include ping pong and drinking chocolate milk... majoring in Environmental Studies.
