2006 WEST COAST CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM
GENERAL CAPSULE: One of the best left-handers on the West Coast... good fastball between 94-96 mph... command of slider and change up. MISCELLANEOUS: Named to the Brooks Wallace Award and Roger Clemens Award Watch Lists for the 2007 season... led the West Coast Conference with a 2.56 ERA in 2006... owns a 2.47 career ERA, good for fourth place on Dons all-time chart. NCAA REGIONAL (2006): Starting pitcher for USF's first NCAA victory against No. 6 national seed Nebraska (6/3)... threw 6.2 innings in the Dons 5-1 victory against the Cornhuskers, finishing with five strikeouts. AT USF (2006): Appeared in 18 games and started 17 as a sophomore... posted an 8-5 record with a team-best 2.49 ERA... led the Dons in strikeouts (75) and starts and was second in complete games (2), wins and innings (112.0)... won four consecutive games (4/22-5/13)... earned first win at Sacramento State (2/26) in an 8.1 inning, four strikeout performance... earned a no-decision in an 8.0 inning, six strikeout night at New Mexico (3/18)... earned a complete game win at Oral Roberts (3/25), allowing only one run on five hits and struck out a season-high nine batters... threw 8.2 shutout innings, earning the win against No. 24 San Diego (4/29)... pitched second complete game win against Loyola Marymount (5/13), allowing just one run off 10 hits and struck out four batters... limited hitters to a .226 average with runners on base and .219 with two outs. AT USF (2005): Emerged as a highly effective reliever out of the bullpen... made 14 appearances and two starts as a freshman... posted the fifth lowest ERA in Dons single-season history at 2.16... recorded a 2-0 record with a save... pitched 2.0 innings and notched three strikeouts in first game against San Jose State (2/8)... earned first save after pitching 2.2 innings and struck out three against Hawaii (4/6)... pitched 2.0 innings and fanned four batters against Loyola Marymount (4/22)... made lone start of the season count with an impressive outing at Cal (5/3)... pitched 6.0 scoreless innings and struck out two Golden Bears. PREP CAREER: Played for Campolindo High School... named Most Valuable Pitcher in the DFAL in 2004... also played football for the Cougars and was named second team All-DFAL defensive line.
