USF Baseball Falls 13-2 at Nevada

(Reno) - USF pitching ran into a Nevada offense hitting on all cylinders ans the Wolf Pack scored runs in their first six consecutive innings and cruised to a 13-2 non-conference victory Tuesday at Peccole Park. San Francisco (19-27) managed six base hits, while the Wolf Pack (19-27) smacked 17, including 10 doubles and two homeruns. Sophomore right-handed starter Steve Spurgeon (2-1) suffered the loss, allowing six runs off six hits in 1.1 innings. Brandon Gottier (3-3) earned the win going 6.0 innings allowing two runs off a two-run double by USF senior outfielder Jason Howard in the third inning. San Francisco returns to action when they host Portland in a crucial West Coast Conference series beginning Friday at Benedetti Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM. USF is tied with San Diego atop the West Division.
