    Tag Bozied Ties USF Career Homerun Record With 36th Bomb; Ian Perio K's Nine

    Senior pitcher Ian Perio pitched seven strong innings as San Francisco shut out the Sonoma State Cossacks, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond. Perio was masterful, allowing only two hits none after the second inning - while striking out nine and giving up just two walks.

    Junior infielder Taggert Bozied hit his second home run of the season and his 36th of his career, tying him with Arnie Sambel for the USF all-time longball lead. Bozied went 2-for-3 on the afternoon, and was issued two intentional walks. Sophomore infielder David Naber also had a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run batted in.

    With the victory, the Dons even their record at 3-3 on the season, while Sonoma State falls to 6-4.

    San Francisco takes to the road for their next series when they play Hawai'I in a three game set beginning Friday, Feb. 11. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM (PT).
