    San Francisco, CA (Feb. 17) - Junior outfielder Jeramy Janz connected on his second career homerun to end the game in victory for the Dons 5-4 against Cal Poly Feb. 17 at Benedetti Diamond. The second game in Saturday's doubleheader was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

    Janz's first career homerun for USF scored two RBI in the bottom of the first by bringing in freshman infielder Armand Gaerlan. Junior catcher Steve Booth scored the Dons' third run in the bottom of the fourth bringing in senior infielder Taggert Bozied.

    Meanwhile, USF junior Jeremy Kinney had good velocity for 6.2 innings allowing just one earned run. Junior Peter Dunkle took the win for the Dons (3-0) after pitching 1.2 innings allowing just one hit.

    USF improved to 5-4 on the season, while Cal Poly dropped to 7-2. The Dons will play again this Tuesday at San Jose State. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 pm
