Senior shortstop Tavo Hall and sophomore outfielder Bobby Ethel were each honored with inclusion on the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN Magazine Academic All-District VIII First Team. This is the second consecutive year that two Diamond Dons have made the team, with Hall and outfielder Jonnie Knoble earning recognition last season.

Hall took one of the four infield spots on the team with his 3.88 GPA in International Studies. The Albuquerque, NM native served as the 2007 class Valedictorian and successfully juggled both his academic and athletic demands. Last season, Hall earned CoSIDA/ESPN Magazine District VIII honors and also earned the Charles Harney Award, which is given to the student-athlete with the highest G.P.A. Hall had been on fire in recent weeks before suffering a broken arm at Gonzaga. On the season, the four year starter is batting .267 (46-172) with 14 doubles (second on the team), a homerun, 28 RBI, and a team leading 11 stolen bases.

Ethel earned an outfield slot with his 3.92 GPA in Chemistry. The Phoenix, AZ native is currently batting .289 (28-97) with seven doubles, a triple, a homerun, 23 RBI, and eight stolen bases.

Hall and Ethel are the only West Coast Conference players to make the team.
